If there is anyone out there, we could us the help, Membership is at 92% and we need about 72 members to reach goal. Remember, National has a payment plan for life membership. They give you 4 installment plan. If you are interested please leave a message at the post and I will get with you. There have been a lot of changes at the post. Auxiliary Treasurer

As of April 1, we were at 90% paid membership and we would like to be 100% by 31 May. If you haven’t renewed yet, please take this opportunity to drop your renewal by the Post or mail it to 3037 N Goldie Rd, Oak Harbor, WA 98277, Attention Treasurer. Your continued membership in the VFW Ladies Auxiliary not only affords you many benefits but also helps keep us strong in Washington DC to work for Veterans benefits and other related programs. Just a reminder, if your dues are not current, you lose your eligibility for many such programs as the Cancer relief fund. Some upcoming events that have been planned are the 60th Anniversary of our Post on 13 May. We are planning a nice celebration with many dignitaries as guests. This is a potluck event so bring your favorite dish(es). Look for the Cinco de Mayo fund raiser on May 5 with live music, tickets $12.00. Also, look forward to the Mother’s and Father’s day breakfasts in May and June, $6 all-you-can-eat. All of which we will need VOLUNTEERS to help out with the planning and execution. We would hope that you might donate a few volunteer hours to make these activities a success. Elections were held at the April meeting—congratulations to all the newly elected officers and thank you for stepping up for the call. If you have recently changed your name or address, please stop by the Post and fill out a change form, or call me and let me know the changes. I can be reached at 675-6453. Please leave a message.

Yours In Loyalty—

Sandy Sill

House Committee

We CAN NOT use the kitchen doors to enter and exit the Post. As directed by the Island County Health Department, the traffic through the kitchen has to STOP! We need your help with this to break old habits and to keep us out of trouble. We would like to welcome our new Club Manager, Christine Wright. Since her first day she has been taking notes and making changes. She knows what it takes to run a business and is not afraid to make a decision. We are looking for great things from Christine and our new bartenders, Debbie and Heather. As everyone knows, we had to close the kitchen as it was not productive. We are working on a menu and pricing so we at least break even on our expenses and we put out a quality meal. Anyone having ideas, please submit them to Christine ASAP. We would like to provide the service that we have become accustomed to over the years. The House Committee will be holding two meetings a month so we may identify and update the canteen to the ever–changing laws, rules and regulations that have happened over the years. We would like to invite everyone to attend and give us your input first hand as to how the canteen may better serve you.
