Di-Ti Dalmatians and Lhasa Apsos
The Deaf Pet Page

Silence......imagine what it would be like!...
Silence......imagine movement without sound!....
Silence......imagine not knowing what others take for granted!....
Silence.....imagine being put to sleep because you aren't  "normal"!....

Dalmatians, along with many other breeds, are are susceptible to being born without hearing. While not an everyday occurrence it does happen and shouldn't be looked at as grounds for having the pet put down. Other than the fact that they can't hear, with a little help, they can live a long and happy life.
Help is here for you and your deaf pet both locally and elsewhere on the web. Check out the sights below, it could be all the help you need.
The Deaf Dogs Page is intended to act as a resource for people who are living with deaf dogs. I hope it will serve as a complementary role to the Deaf Dogs Mailing list, which is for discussion about living with deaf dogs. To join the Deaf Dogs Mailing List just send and email to: deafdogs-request@cybervision.com  with the word "subscribe" (no quotes) as the subject and give your name in the body of the messege. The mailing list started 1998 with over 400 members and is still growing.
